Well, does it?

I just posted the essay Does atheism lead to cult of personality hero worship? on my Examiner page.

Here is a taste:

This phenomenon has, at least, three aspects:

1) Spiritual warfare coupled with a dose of rebellion loves company.

2) Secular mis-education or, re-education.

3) Our propensity towards glorifying those whom we admire.

FYI: I just finished posting a series dealing with an ubiquitously promulgated well within the box atheist talking point de jour which is the claim—popularized by Richard Dawkins, his cult of personality hero worship adherents, et al.—that “God did it” is a science stopper.

Imagine being so shockingly ignorant of 1) the very foundations upon which science is premised and 2) the fact that most of the world’s most erudite scientists have been Jews and Christians and you get a taste of what it is like to be a New Atheist.

Richard Dawkins stated that his new book The Greatest Show on Earth “is not intended as an antireligious book.” Well, considering that for him Darwinian evolution has always been about warding off God his intentionality came to naught as he simply could not help himself.

Considering that the book in expressed in atheistic evangelistic terms which run from “Evolutionary Theodicy” to the call to conversion to a “Grandeur View of Life” Dawkins has produced another anti-religious pro atheistic polemic.

I wrote two preemptive essays:

Step 1: define “science” as only dealing with the natural / material.

Step 2: define “God” as supernatural / immaterial.

Step 3: conclude that there is no scientific evidence for God.

In this way, they not only conclude that there is no scientific evidence for God but they construct a worldview according to which it is literally impossible for there to be any scientific evidence for God.

You have to love the feisty self-important nature of a young student’s zeal without knowledge. Yes, they get a mere taste of freedom, abscond my good ol' mommy’s apron strings and after one or two classes are quite prepared to give the world what f'r.

Below are two videos by John Lennox which discuss a subject that should rightly be a dead subject; the warfare between science and religion.

I suspect that were it not for the deleterious affects of New Atheist style movements, history, science and logic could be regarded as they are and no such atheist mythology would exist.

As stated in part 1, the typical New Atheist fallacies committed by Christopher Hitchens during his debate with Jay Richards are further compounded by the laymen New Atheists as exampled throughout the internet. In this case, I will consider the picture perfect example of a fallacy compounder in the form of Aidan Maconachy (from his article "Christopher Hitchens Debates Creationist Jay Richards") a DHDH Meme carrier (for Dennett-Harris-Dawkins-Hitchens).

I have witnessed it time and time again; the deleterious effect of the New Atheist movement. This movement has popularized a particular polemical tactic whereby being vociferous, emotive, belittling, making assertions, and concocting arguments from outrage and arguments for embarrassment and for ridicule replace reasoned discourse.

They have been contaminated by the DHDH Meme (for Dennett-Harris-Dawkins-Hitchens).
