We have discovered a proofreading information system consisting of “four letters” stung together along a spiral double helix network which informs “machinery,” which have the ability to read and interpret the information, how to build functional three dimensional structures (‘machinery’ which have themselves been built based on the information system in the first place)...
As I noted in my post Hermeneutics Resources; it is myopic to define hermeneutics solely in relation to the Bible as it is a method by which to accurately understand any text (“Biblical hermeneutics” is the specific branch).
There is a correlation to be drawn between the Bible, the Constitution of the USA and DNA:
1) They each contain information.
2) We seek to read and understand each.
Prof. Richard Dawkins presents the children with an outdated version of the tree of life. Some time ago this tree illustration was supposed to demonstrate how all organisms (represented in the tips of the branches) evolved from common ancestors (represented where the branch sprouts off of the trunk) and which are all traced to the first living organism.
"4) Atheists think everything in the universe arose by chance":
Sam Harris begins this section with a dogmatic statement, "No one knows why the universe came into being." How does he know this? Perhaps millions of people know, they tell him about it, and he rejects it. But, to be fair, we suppose that he, being an absolutist materialist, is stating that we cannot run a reproducible experiment or otherwise observe the beginning and its cause. Incidentally, some may deny that he is an absolute materialist since he embraces Buddhist meditation but he denies supernatural transcendence and embraces materialistic transcendence. His view is basically that transcendence is a product of the brain). As Richard Dawkins puts it, "If there is something that appears to lie beyond the natural world as it is now imperfectly understood, we hope eventually to understand it and embrace it within the natural."1
