AVATAR - the Movie
Just saw the movie yesterday. Here are some quick notes:
The end is awesome, as it turns out; the butler did it :o)
Actually judging by the name I know what to expect. Surely, many youngsters think that "Avatar" is a computer term, as it has become just that, but it derives from Hindu theology.
Thus, the movie is saturated with new-age/pantheism/Hinduism. Also, plays off of African and Native American spiritualism/tribalism. Big on Gaia/Mother Earth neo-Paganism.
It is also anti-military and anti-capitalism.
Interesting reference to second birth.
It was very, very well done and quite emotive. For what it was, it was well played.
Made me think that God created the Earth and gave it to us to care for.
No Mother Earth without Father God for me but I was reminded that our home is God's creation and we should appreciated it and care for it as such.
